David Parker, President and Founder
The President of DPC Hospitality, David Parker, has over 30 years of experience in the hotel industry, including more than 25 years in hotel consulting and development. Prior to forming DP Consulting in 2001, Mr. Parker was employed by PKF Consulting (now CBRE Hotels) for nearly a decade, where he developed numerous methodologies for collecting market information on hotels and meeting facilities, and developed multiple modeling techniques for projecting utilization, income and expense.
In addition to opining on market conditions as a qualified hotel market consultant, Mr. Parker is also an experienced real estate developer, having completed numerous ground-up projects involving residential, retail, and hospitality uses. As a successful real estate developer, he brings a developer’s perspective to complex consulting engagements, along with the polish of an experienced consultant from a national firm.
Mr. Parker is the Past President of Hospitality Financial Technology Professionals Houston Chapter and has been a Guest Lecturer at the University of Houston Conrad Hilton Hotel College. He is also a licensed real estate broker in Texas, and a licensed pilot.
Christian Abbate, Senior Vice President
With more than 15 years of professional experience in the industry, Christian has provided market and financial services for a variety of hospitality real estate projects. His areas of specialization include market and financial feasibility and valuation analysis for hotel and conference center projects, economic impact and gap analysis for numerous municipal projects, brand impact studies for multiple hotel brands and projections of hotel occupancy tax revenues for various public entities.
Prior to partnering with David Parker at DPC Hospitality, Christian served in several roles including Director at CBRE Hotels and as Vice President at PKF Consulting’s Houston office from 2007 to 2018. Preceding that, he served in management positions at Whataburger, Accor Hotels and Hilton Hotels. Christian holds a MHA from the Conrad Hilton College at the University of Houston and a BBA with an emphasis in Marketing and Entrepreneurship from Baylor University.
Christian lives in Katy with his wife Becca and their two boys. When not working, he enjoys traveling internationally, reading and supporting the Houston Astros.
Wenyue “Wendy” Zhu brings 10 years of international hospitality experience to DPC Hospitality. Ms. Zhu is a graduate of the Conrad N. Hilton College and the Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston earning her Masters of Science in Hospitality Management and an MBA. Ms. Zhu received the Fairmont Hotels & Resorts Scholarship, the Conrad N. Hilton College Scholarship, as well as the Presidential Graduate Fellowship, and Graduate Assistant Tuition Fellowship. She completed her BA in Law at the China Institute of Industrial Relations in Beijing, China.
Prior to joining DPC Hospitality, Ms. Zhu interned with HVS Consulting in Beijing, conducting extensive research and analysis of market data to produce intelligence reports to guide, shape, and lead development in the hotel and real estate industry. She also assisted senior consultants by conducting research and providing advice on management contracts. She began her hospitality career as the Assistant Front Office Manager at the Jianguo Hotel Beijing where she led her staff to increase revenue during the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympic Games, and was named “Best Olympics Star Employee”.
Additionally, Ms. Zhu once served as a Cultural Representative and Trainer at Epcot, Walt Disney World, speaking in front of large groups, engaging in language and cultural activities, where she was recognized as a “Great Service Fanatic”. She also interned with the Film Workshop Co. Ltd. in Hong Kong, negotiating and editing labor contracts with actors and producers.
Xueqing “Sunny” Wang is the newest addition to DPC Hospitality. Ms. Wang earned her Master’s Degree of Science in Hospitality Management from the Conrad N. Hilton College at the University of Houston, and graduated with the Alumni Association Award for Scholastic Excellence. Ms. Wang received the Conrad N. Hilton College Competitive Scholarship, theHouston Restaurant Association Scholarship, the John Cahill Hospitality Technology Research Assistantship established by Hospitality Financial andTechnology Professionals (HFTP), and served as a Graduate Assistant to the HFTP Americas Research Center located at the Hilton College. She completed her BSc in Hotel Management at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in Hong Kong, China.
Ms. Wang served as the Vice President of the HFTP HKPU Student Chapter 2011-2012 and was in charge of the HFTP Asia Research Center before moving to Houston for graduate school in 2016. She researched on interested topics for HFTP stakeholders, maintained partnerships with regional professional associations, and represented HFTP at regional conferences and events. During her time as a Graduate Assistant, Ms. Wang contributed to multiple research projects about various topics such as IT spending, data security, compensation and benefits, Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry (USALI), and accounting/IT job descriptions for hotels and clubs. She also wrote blog articles about trending topics of the hospitality industry for HFTP Connect.
Prior to joining DPC Hospitality, Ms. Wang interned with Booking.com in Houston, supporting accommodation partners to improve their performance by advising on rates, availability, and contents on their Booking.com webpage. She also interned with the Intercontinental Hong Kong hotel, providing high-quality services to VIP guests at the club lounge.
